Acclaimed actress and model, Kriti Verma, who appeared in popular shows like Bigg Boss Season 12 and MTV Roadies Extreme predicts today’s winner and construes the surge of content creators in India.

Undoubtedly, the second season of the biggest reality show Bigg Boss OTT, with Salman Khan as the host, has shattered all preceding records. With a whooping watch time of over 400 crore minutes recorded in just two weeks, the makers in this season featured various interesting gimmicks that struck a chord with the audience. Conceptualizing a show with a 24-hour live feature, and 360-degree live feed, along with an interesting mix of contestants led to the viewers getting glued onto the Jio Cinema app 24×7 which resulted in the extension of the show by two weeks.

The show’s unwavering response can be attributed to the meticulously curated blend of contestants ranging from content creators to YouTubers to actors, and international model actors. While the audience showered their support and likings to all the contestants, there have been a few particular faces such as Abhishek Malhan AKA Fukraa Insaan, Manisha Rani, and Elvish Yadav that demonstrate the surge of creator economy in India and have taken the show to newer heights.

Kriti Verma explains, “The rise of social media and digital platforms such as Instagram, Youtube, and TikTok along with the widespread availability of smartphones and data penetration has led to the emergence of a new line of celebrities – content creators. Armed with a creative mind and inventiveness, these individuals have taken the virtual world by storm; accumulating massive followings, and influencing trends and opinions. Bigg Boss OTT in this season has shed light on this increasing phenomenon of creator economy, especially with the participation of two very prominent YouTubers like Elvish Yadav and Fukraa Insaan.”

Whether it was Elvish’s hilarious one-liners or Abhishek’s calm demeanor, their participation in Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 underscores the recognition of their influence and the growing importance of the creators. Including them in the show has added a fresh dynamic to the show’s narrative. While their existing fan bases have been attracted to the show to watch their favorites 24×7, Elvish and Fukra Insaan have also been exposed to the wider audience of Bigg Boss. With India’s most celebrated actor, Salman Khan, hosting the show, digital content creators are now becoming an integral part of mainstream pop culture.

Kriti Verma, recalls her experience from participating in the two biggest reality shows of all time, namely, MTV Roadies Extreme and Bigg Boss Season 12, and shares that these shows are changing the landscape of the entertainment industry completely. “The rollercoaster of emotions that an individual goes to entertain the audience as a participant is the currency they invest.”

Since the finale of Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 is right around the corner, there has been a massive buzz around the winner of this season. Elvish and Fukraa Insaan are locked in for a tough competition amongst all five finalists; there have been a record number of votes being cast this season. Kriti Verma expresses that according to her, the winner of this season of Bigg Boss OTT might be Elvish Yadav, however, she wanted Fukraa Insaan to win from the beginning. This changed when Elvish Yadav entered the Bigg Boss house as a wild card contestant in the fourth week of the show. According to Kriti, Elvish & Fukraa Insaan are the central figures in the larger narrative of the show, both have won massively in their respective games.
